Work on second phase of ECT begins

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday inaugurated the second phase of the construction of the East Container Terminal (ECT), under the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). With a total investment of US $ 520 million into the construction and equipment, the terminal, which is constructed in three phases, is expected to be fully operational by July 2024.
