Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwela accepts MoU agreement from Technical Education and Training Department official
Alumex PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys and a trailblazing aluminium manufacturer in Sri Lanka, has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Technical Education and Training (DTET), to create opportunities for the youth, by equipping them with the expertise to be certified as world-class, skilled fabrication craftsmen.
To address the industry’s ever-evolving challenges, Alumex PLC and the DTET will establish a state-of-the-art model training centre at the Maradana Technical College and look to extend this effort across key cities, establishing multiple world-class training facilities in the island.
This groundbreaking initiative will empower students with a fully-updated curriculum and cutting-edge fabrication techniques, to elevate the industry’s fabrication standards. By bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and hands-on applications, Alumex and the DTET are priming the next generation of fabricators for success in the modern landscape.
The DTET acknowledged that the partnership with Alumex PLC will help enhance skills within the fabrication sector and help elevate the industry standards. The DTET looks forward to expanding its training centres across the island and is confident that by equipping the youth with the training and knowledge they need, they are providing them with a chance to strengthen the workforce as valuable contributors to the nation’s economic growth.
Alumex PLC Managing Director Pramuk Dediwala said, “At Alumex, we are committed to supporting the development of the aluminium fabrication industry. Through this comprehensive training programme, we will not only equip the younger generation of fabricators with the right technical knowledge, skills and tools to thrive but will instil within them the spirit of innovation.”
