Sri Lanka’s favourite confectionary brand Munchee introduced Munchee Rollz exclusively at Cargills Food City, to provide a unique experience, which has not been explored before by a Sri Lankan confectionary manufacturer.
Munchee Rollz is made of premium cocoa and has rich chocolate and vanilla-filled variants and is billed as a premium indulgence and experience for teens and young adults. The exciting new product was launched in the presence of the chief guests, CBL Group Group Director Rasith Wickramasingha and Cargills Chief Merchandising Officer Erangika Samarage, popular influencers, customers, staff and members of the media, who attended the event.
Munchee Rollz will be exclusively available at Cargills Food City outlets for an entire month and then at other supermarkets after the launch to satisfy the taste buds of consumers seeking a premium wafer experience. Munchee Rollz fulfils the need for a premium product, creating excitement amongst discerning customers for this product range.

Ceylon Biscuits Limited Marketing Manager Munchee Vijith Perera said, “As the first cocoa powder-based wafer stick made by a local confectionary manufacturer, the trend setting Munchee Rollz appeals to the taste of teens and young adults, who have felt the void in the market for premium wafer sticks. At Munchee, our purpose is to enrich the lives of our discerning consumer, enriching those happy moments and making them memorable. We always strive to be accessible to our consumer and we believe Cargills also strives for the same objective in making Sri Lankan’s lives more convenient. This partnership, created with an exclusive launch will deliver higher value and excitement to shoppers and will set the tone to sweeten the relationship between CBL Munchee and Cargills’ even further.” Commenting on the close attention thought and innovation that has gone into the packaging, Perera further added, “The product comes in a boxboard with a tear-to-open option, which allows consumers to close the box and save it for later, which is not something that is often seen in the Sri Lankan market. This innovation in packaging was also done with the consumer in mind.”

The rolled wafer is made using premium cocoa and is now available in two variants: vanilla and chocolate. Unlike regular wafer sticks, this unique wafer is made with cocoa powder, which will provide a more ‘chocolaty’ experience for youth. Consumers can expect the brand to experiment with premium flavours in the months ahead.  Munchee is one of the most innovative brands in Sri Lanka that delivers new experiences to Sri Lankan consumers, catapulting it as the number one biscuit brand in Sri Lanka. The brand has been the recipient of the prestigious Brand of the Year award nine times, at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards that recognises brands that have been innovative and outstanding in their marketing efforts. The brand continuously evolves its product offering through innovative recipes and technology to meet consumer needs and wants in and over 65 countries across the world.
