CINEC Campus establishes CINEC International Hotel School

CINEC campus, Sri Lanka’s premier naval engineering education institute, has recently established CINEC International Hotel School (CINEC-IHS). 

The newly established CINEC International Hotel School conducts five certificate programmes: (1) Professional Cookery, (2) Pastry & Bakery, (3) Food & Beverages, (4) Hotel Front Office Management, (5) Hotel Housekeeping powered through the partnership with Austria’s Modul University-Vienna, a leading educational center on hospitality management, to award internationally recognized these certificate programmes on hospitality management. 

These programmes are also on par with Sri Lanka’s NVQ certificate standards. The specialty of these courses offered by CINEC-IHS provides the special introduction on Cruise Tourism focusing the employment opportunities in cruise ships through the CINEC Industry and Professional Partnerships. The duration of each of these programs is one-year. This one year includes six months of theoretical and practical training followed by six months of industrial training.The programs on Professional Cookery and Pastry & Bakery, will be conductedon residential basis at the hotel school of Ruwala Hotel (Hotel School within Hotel), Kalptiya, owned by CINEC Campus as a special training opportunity given for the students. 
The Certificate Programmes on Food & Beverages, Hotel Front Office Management and Hotel Housekeeping will be conducted at the CINEC-IHS in Malambe. 

These programmes also provide the necessary practical training at Ruwala Hotel, Kalpitiya during first six months and industrial training at recognized hotels in Sri Lanka and Maldives during the next six months. In addition, the IHS also offers several shortand industry demand-driven courses on human resource development of the hospitality sector during weekends and weekdays. (Bar Tender Training, Short Training Courses for foreign job seekers of waiter-stewards, room boys/maids, receptionists and cooks, Hospitality Skills Upgrading for cruise liners, Cakes & Gateaux and Cake Designing, Diploma in Hotel Management).
