CIPM National HR Conference 2023 in June

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka has announced National HR Conference

2023 to be conducted under the theme ‘Navigating Dire Straits’. The event will be held on June 21 and 22, 2023, at Monarch Imperial, Sri Jayewardenepura.


After a hiatus of three years, due to the pandemic, the CIPM National HR Conference returns, promising to be an event of unparalleled insights and experiences for HR professionals, business leaders and other stakeholders.
National HR Conference 2023 will be graced by A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd Managing Director/CEO Rolf Blaser delivering the keynote speech.


The event is partnered by PickMe (Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd), Nippon Paint Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd, hSenid Business Solutions and IDM Campus and co-sponsored by HNB PLC and Dole Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd.
National HR Conference 2023 comprises a main conference with technical sessions, the Great HR Debate, National HR Exhibition and CIPM Lifetime Gold Award.


The technical sessions of the conference will be focused on the following topics: Technical Session – 1: How people management practices support business in navigating dire straits, Technical Session – 2: (Panel discussion) The impact of the economic downturn on people practices, Technical Session – 3: (Panel discussion) Mass skilled migration and its impact on socioeconomic development, Technical Session – 4: Lessons from Covid-19 that people professionals should take into the future, Technical Session – 5: Sustainable people practices and green initiatives and Technical Session – 6: Employee Assistance Programmes (EAPs) - Is it a fad or an essential survival tool in an economic crisis?
The conference fees are as follows: CIPM students – Rs.17,000, CIPM members – Rs.20,000, non-members – rs.23,000, foreign participants – US $ 200.


At the media briefing on NHRC 2023, held on April 27, at the CIPM-Members Lounge, CIPM President Ken Vijayakumar said that the purpose of having this conference is to introduce novel and effective people management practices that cater for the current issues faced by companies such as the brain drain, improving the productivity and finding solutions to people-based problems. Furthermore, sharing his valuable thoughts on the conference, NHRC Committee 2023 Chairman Priyankara Senevirathne highlighted the importance of holding an event of this calibre amidst many challenges to help Sri Lanka move forth at this dire strait.
