CMA Sri Lanka National Management Accounting Conference begins next week

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka will hold its 18thAnnual Flagship event the CMA National Management Accounting Conference 2022 on the theme ‘Crises an Opportunity to Re-Build Sri Lanka’ on 31st October and 1st November comprising the inaugural session on the 31st October and four technical sessions on 1st November at the Taj Samudra, Colombo. 


CMA Sri Lanka set up in 1999, inaugurated in June 2000 was incorporated by Act of Parliament No. 23 of 2009 as the National Professional Management Accounting Institution in Sri Lanka. 


The inaugural ceremony of the conference will be held on 31st October from 9.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and the conference will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Daniel Bood Actg. High Commissioner of Canada to Sri Lanka. The Founder President CMA Sri Lanka and Chairman CMA National Management Accounting Conference 2022 Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala will welcome the gathering and the keynote address on ‘Digital Technology to Transform Economy & Business in Crisis’ will be delivered by President, TCS Asia Pacific Girish Ramachandran.
The Guest of Honour address will be delivered by President International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Alan Johnson. 


The key highlight of the inauguration will be the launch of ‘CMA History Book’ from 1999-2022.The introduction of CMA Sri Lanka History Book ‘In the Interest of our Nation’ will be delivered by Prof. Mangala Fonseka who played a major role in complying it, followed by H.M. Hennayaka Bandara President SAFA and Vice President CMA Sri Lanka and A. N. Raman Advisory Council Member CMA Sri Lanka and Past President SAFA.


CMA Sri Lanka will award prominent Professional Accountants who have excelled in professional, business and social activities with the CMA Excellence in Business Awards 2022. Chairman, CMA Sri Lanka Research Symposium Prof Roshan Ajward will detail about the CMA Sri Lanka Research Symposium and the winners will be recognized.  The technical sessions of the conference will be held on 1st November from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. 
Eminent speakers will address the technical sessions.  Session 1 on the topic Overcoming Economic Crises to Build an Industrious Nation, Session 2 on State Owned Enterprises – Are they Well Managed or Mismanaged?  Overseas and Local Experiences, Session 3 on Avoiding Fraud and Corruption to Transform Businesses with Benefits to Society and Final session on Value Creation through Sustainability and Integrated Thinking.
