CMA Sri Lanka conducts 17th graduation ceremony

The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (CMA Sri Lanka) conducted its 17th Graduation Ceremony at the BMICH in November. 
The Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker at the ceremony was Dr. Chandra Embuldeniya, Inaugural Vice-Chancellor, Uva Wellassa University Sri Lanka.
CMA Sri Lanka conferred membership to a total of 261 consisting of 61 Fellow Certified Management Accountants (FCMA) and 201 Associate Certified Management Accountants (ACMA).
The CMA designation was also granted to 34 Associate Management Accountants. Certificates and awards to students who have passed the examinations of CMA in November 2019 and May 2020 comprising 75 CMA Passed Finalists, 52 Intermediate level CABM Qualification, CHFMA Hotel Accounting Certificates &  Prize Winners.
The Founder President Prof Lakshman R. Watawala Gold Medal for the Most Outstanding Performance at the Final Examinations was awarded to S. M. T. U. Dissanayake who also delivered a speech on behalf of all students and spoke of the benefits of the CMA Sri Lanka management accounting programme and how the digital technology had helped them.
Dr. Embuldeniya Chief  in his keynote address congratulated all new members & certificate recipients and stated the relevance of the CMA syllabus for new normal and rapid changing skill requirements in the industry locally and globally, which will benefit CMA students to be the most recognized management accountants for industry, commerce and government.
Prof Lakshman R Watawala, Founder President CMA Sri Lanka stated the adoption of digitalization and digital learning and examinations paved the way for students to
Successfully complete the CMA programme despite Covid-19 pandemic and the disruptions to traditional modes of education. 
He also stated that the Final Apex Level modules the Speechcraft soft skills programme and Computer Based Accounting programme were conducted online very successfully enabling students to complete the CMA professional programme and obtain membership.  
The Vice President CMA Sri Lanka Hennayake Bandara delivered the vote of thanks and the welcome address was given by Prof Harendra Kariyawasam Council Member CMA Sri Lanka and Chairman Examinations Committee.
