The Global Finances Report Cards 2023 ranked Central Bank Governors from ‘A’ to ‘F’ of 101 countries based on inflation control, economic growth goals, currency stability, and interest rate management.

Other governors rated at ‘A-‘ are, Colombia’s Leonardo Villar, Dominican Republic’s Hector Valdez Albizu, Iceland’s Asgeir Jonsson, Indonesia’s Perry Warjiyo, Mexico’s Victoria Rodriguez Ceja, Morocco’s Abdellatif Jouahri, Norway’s Ida Wolden Bache, South Africa’s Lesetja Kganyago and South Korea’s Rhee Changyong.

“Fighting inflation, which has been fueled by pent-up demand and disrupted supply chains, has everyone turning to their central bankers for help,” said Global Finance founder and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo.
“Global Finance’s annual Central Banker Report Cards celebrate those bank governors whose strategies outperformed their peers through orgininality, creativity and tenacity” he added.
Sri Lanka’s inflation has returned to desired mid-single digit levels in recent months from historic highs recorded in 2022, interest rates are being normalised, and volatility in the exchange rate has been curtailed. The economy is set to record positive growth from the latter part of 2023, with firming investor sentiments.
