Ceylinco Life Chairman R. Renganathan and Managing Director Thushara Ranasinghe (right and left, respectively) open refurbished green branch in Nugegoda

Ceylinco Life has reopened its busy Nugegoda branch after a complete refurbishment that improves customer facilities and service while reducing the branch’s environmental footprint.
Located in one of the most densely populated suburbs of Colombo, the refurbished branch now features private discussion rooms to ensure customer privacy through specialised customer handling processes. It also has a parking facility with space for over 10 vehicles, which further enhances convenience for customers.

The branch was renovated according to the reduce, recycle, reuse – 3R principle, the life insurance leader said. Equipped with energy-efficient artificial lighting and air conditioning systems, the building is also designed to operate with a battery backup, eliminating the need for a generator. This is the first time that this system has been implemented at a Ceylinco Life branch.

Ceylinco Life also recently laid the foundation stone for an eco-friendly branch building in Minuwangoda and has acquired a property in Matugama, which will be converted into to a company branch soon. Two other green buildings are under construction for the company’s branches in Ja-Ela and Matale and will be opened for operations in the first quarter of 2023. The company currently owns over 45 properties, including the buildings housing its offices in Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Jaffna, Batticaloa, Kandy, Kalutara, Kurunegala, Gampaha, Galle, Matara, Tissamaharama, Negombo, Ratnapura, Kotahena, Mount Lavinia and Wellawatte, many of which have already been converted to solar energy. Among the new branch buildings purpose-built to the company’s sustainable energy model are those in Horana, Panadura, Wennappuwa, Bandarawela, Chilaw, Kadawatha, Jaffna, Malabe, Divulapitiya, Negombo, Nelliady and Piliyandala.

Ceylinco Life operates the largest network of 256 branches in Sri Lanka’s life insurance industry, giving it a physical presence in 132 cities, towns and villages in 24 districts.
