In an effort to foster and facilitate an increase in tourism in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Roots recently successfully concluded two events in collaboration with the International Police Association of Sri Lanka (IPA).
Nominated as Ground Handling Agent in Sri Lanka for the fifth consecutive year, the Ceylon Roots vision is to create memorable moments and island experiences for both inbound and outbound travel. With this, the team effectively accommodated the International Hosting Section Meetings, which were held at Cinnamon Grand and live streamed it for the benefit of international participants, who were unable to physically attend the sessions.
The second event carried out was the sixth International Young Police Officers’ Seminar on ‘Countering Modern Terrorism’ held at the STF Training School, Katukurunda, Kalutara with participants from over 12 countries and spanning four continents.

Ceylon Roots CEO and Leisure Chief Business Development Officer Dishan Perera stated, “We are proud to have been nominated to handle these events with IPA Sri Lanka. We thank IPA Sri Lanka Chapter Chairman cum Secretary General SDIG Asoka Wijethilake for the opportunity given to us over the last five years. This has always allowed us to prove that Sri Lanka is a unique destination for travellers. We also take this opportunity to appreciate the steps taken by the new government and newly-elected President of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremesinghe, for bringing back stability to the country. We are grateful to Tourism Minister Harin Fernando MP, who has taken immediate measures to operate round tour programmes for incoming tourists with the facility of allocating fuel allowances from designated locations islandwide for tourist vehicles. This has surely helped us to rebuild the reputation of Sri Lanka as a must-visit destination.”
Wijetilleka said, “It has been a pleasure working with Ceylon Roots over the last few years. Together, we have hosted several IPA international delegations on behalf of IPA Sri Lanka Chapter. The Ceylon Roots team has gone above the limit to make these events a success and have accommodated all our requirements, even at the last minute.”
