Coconut Growers Association of Sri Lanka (CGASL) is an organization consisting of 850 Life members engaged in the commercial production of coconuts. The Organization counts 29 years of service to its members with the Executive Committee offering voluntary service.

CGASL was awarded accreditation as an Associate Member of the International Coconut Community (ICC) in 2019 on the completion of 25 years of service to the grower community of Sri Lanka.
ICC is an intergovernmental organization of coconut-producing countries organized in 1969 underthe aegis of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP).
The association is registered as a company limited by guarantee (not for profit) and operates under Companies Act no. 7 of 2007. It has 850 members representing 10 percent of the extent of coconut plantations with eight regional committees in the provinces.

CGASL has provided three decades of service to its members and a voice to the one million smallholder grower community of the industry.
CGASL adopted a strategic plan to provide a better service to its members and to be proactive with all stakeholders of the coconut industry under the theme ‘sustainable coconut production for food security of the nation’.
A new Secretariat for the CGASL was established on July 4th at the National Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka, 450, D. R. Wijewardane Mawatha Colombo 10. The establishment of the Secretariat and employing an Executive officer is a key milestone in the strategic plan.
The secretariat will function from Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
