Crowds flock to Delkanda Sunday market as veggie prices plummet

Since the prices of vegetables have come down these days, many customers have come to the Delkanda Sunday Market to buy vegetables. Inflation in Colombo was recorded at 4 percent in August, down from 6.3 percent in July. The food deflation continued for the second consecutive month recording 4.8 percent in August 2023 from 1.4 percent in July 2023. However, the prices of rice and types of grains still remain high.
