Having being aired on several leading local TV channels in Sri Lanka recently, the 30-minute documentary can now be enjoyed by viewers around the world.

The construction of the eye-catching AHASA ONE Sky Bridge which has been installed c.100 feet in the air and connects the Sapphire Residences with the ITC hotel towers has transformed Colombo’s prestigious Galle Face oceanfront. The creation of AHASA ONE proudly announces that Sri Lanka is ready to join the ranks of world-class global destinations where outstanding engineering landmarks are found. Setting a new architectural precedent for the entire South Asian region AHASA ONE will be the latest addition to the fast-changing cityscape of Colombo and will undoubtedly elevate the city’s status by bringing it on par with some of the most fascinating cities across the globe.

While AHASA ONE boasts of a futuristic design, it presented several significant challenges to the engineers who put together this engineering masterpiece. This special documentary shows how the Sky Bridge was conceived, designed, constructed in India and shipped across to Colombo, where over several months it was assembled on the ground and hoisted up to be affixed between the towers’ 19th and 21st levels. It will provide insights to the creative thinking and planning process during the design and engineering of this architectural marvel. It also reveals the fascinating story of how a real estate developer’s vision of creating South Asia’s first-ever such Sky Bridge was turned into reality in the face of a number of hurdles faced along the way.

The documentary does highlight the importance of AHASA ONE for Sri Lanka as a national architectural monument and how it is ready to boost the country’s image in the global arena. When completed AHASA ONE will feature two infinity pools and a sun deck on top, with a luxurious jazz lounge and bar inside. Offering breathtaking dual-panoramic views which will generate an ambience that is unique to the region, the suspended Sky Lounge and the double infinity Skypools on top are guaranteed to become a popular leisure destination for Colombo’s elite and international visitors.
