EU pledge support to boost SL wellness tourism

The EU delegation to Sri Lanka has pledged its support to strengthen the capacity of wellness tourism in the country, which will allow the industry to bounce back faster towards recovery. 
 
The 'Sri Lanka Wellness Tourism Stakeholder Project’, under which the support will be extended, will be officially launched tomorrow.
 
According to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) a fund has been allocated by the EU to uplift the local wellness sector, however, the figure was not disclosed.
 
IBF International Consulting has been given the contract by the EU delegation to undertake a technical assistance assignment.
 
Under the assignment, a short term course curricula for Ayurveda therapists and wellness facility management in Sri Lanka will be developed.
 
The overall objective of the effort is for tourists to have an authentic experience that will provide a boost for the wellness tourism sector in the country.
