All around the world, employees need the same elements from their workplace in order to thrive: trust in leaders, pride in their work and connection to co-workers.
For the Fortune World’s Best Workplaces List, published globally, Great Place To Work identified the 25 organisations that according to their employees, offer the best experience for workers of all backgrounds, job types and geographic locations. More than 6.2 million survey responses were analysed, representing the experiences of 18 million employees globally, including MNC organisations who participated in Sri Lanka.

At winning organisations, 90 percent of employees reported having a great workplace, compared to a little more than half of employees at typical workplaces, according to a global market survey by Great Place To Work.
“Being a global employer comes with immense responsibility to people and to the planet. It doesn’t matter what country or continent you call home,” said Great Place To Work CEO Michael C. Bush.
“What matters is the trust companies build with their employees. High-trust workplaces listen to all their people, innovate, adapt, measure and repeat.”

The top three Best Workplaces in the World included Hilton (No.1), DHL Express (No.2) and Cisco (No.3). Local workplaces in Sri Lanka for Hilton and DHL contributed to this ranking.
The 25 winning organisations had a larger percentage of workers reporting fair pay (75 percent), healthy work-life balance support (84 percent) and a voice in decisions that affected their work (81 percent), compared to a typical global workplace.
At winning companies, 88 percent of employees would recommend their employer to friends and family — 34 percentage points higher than the global average of 54 percent.

Do you want to know how to build a Great Workplace? Great Place To Work identified four ways the top employers build a better workplace: Firstly, involve employees in decisions that affect them. Secondly, ensure every employee has a fair, engaged manager. Thirdly, encourage every employee to find a healthy work-life balance. And last but not least, connect every employee to meaningful work.
The 25 World’s Best Workplaces stood out for creating globally exceptional employee experiences, high-trust relationships and workplaces that are fair and equal for all.

Great Place To Work selected the World’s Best Workplaces by rigorously gathering and analysing confidential employee survey responses worldwide from Great Place To Work Certified organisations. Organisations are assessed on their efforts to create great workplaces and positively impact people and communities across multiple countries around the world. Organisations must have appeared on at least five Best Workplaces country lists globally during 2022 or early 2023 and have at least 5,000 employees worldwide, with 40 percent outside of their headquartered country.
