Hands off EPF, demand trade unions

Trade unions and a group of civil society activists yesterday staged a demonstration in Colombo against the government’s Domestic Debt Optimisation plan and its potential adverse effects on the workers’ funds at the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF). The demonstrators accused the government of triggering the worst economic crisis of the country’s history and making the people pay for it.
