This initiative isn’t just about education—it’s about empowerment. The academy offers short-term and advanced courses in air conditioning technology, catering to a wide range of learners, including school-leavers, technical personnel and maintenance staff from diverse sectors like hospitality, finance, healthcare, telecommunications and large corporations.
Our goal with this academy is to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the dynamic field of air conditioning technology. It’s a testament to our dedication to fostering growth, innovation and sustainability within the industry.
The collaboration between Abans and LG for this project has resulted in an investment exceeding 12 million. Notably, this endeavour has led to the establishment of the sole LG AC academy in South Asian countries. This academy serves as a pivotal hub for training LG partners in cutting-edge technology. The event saw the esteemed presence of Senior Prof. S.M.A. Nanayakkara as the chief guest, alongside other notable delegates, including ITUM Director Major General (Retired) S.K. Additionally, LG partners from South Asian nations joined along with representatives from LG in Singapore and Korea for this significant occasion.

This session attracted 500 participants from various universities, technical colleges, including 100 students from ITUM and industry professionals specialising in VRF systems.
Furthermore, plans are underway to create employment opportunities within the Abans group of companies, particularly targeting school leavers who have completed NVQ courses in air conditioning technology.
