Lakwin Air granted AOC for providing domestic commercial air transport

Lakwin Aviation (Pvt.) Ltd has been certified by the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) to provide domestic commercial civil passenger and cargo transport services after fulfilling the necessary requirements.
The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was handed over by Director General Civil Aviation and Chief Executive Officer P.A. Jayakantha to Lakwin Air Chief Executive Officer on behalf of Lakwin Air Accountable Manager Lakshitha Weerasinghe.


The entry of more airlines to the Sri Lanka air transport industry will be a catalyst to the national economy through the promotion of the tourism industry.


The application submitted by Lakwin Air was scrutinised by the CAASL civil aviation inspectors by considering the organisational structure, aircraft capability, availability of qualified and well-trained staff, instruments/equipment and other required facilities and documents for the certification under the guidance of Jayakantha and the leadership of CAASL Deputy Director General Flight Safety Regulations Saman Gunawerdena.


Jayakantha emphasised that the AOC holder shall be required to maintain standards for Air Safety and Security of all activities and the Lakwin Air representatives promised to act as per the scope of the AOC.
