The luxury cruise liner Ocean Odyssey docked at Colombo Port recently. On board were said to be 108 American tourists.
In order to cater to the currency exchange and financial transaction needs of the tourists, NDB Bank placed an ATM truck and a mobile Foreign Cash Counter at the port for passenger convenience. This mobile unit was manned by the staff of the Nawam Mawatha NDB branch, and provided grounds for the NDB Privileged Centre to successfully identify potential business opportunities.
To commemorate the arrival of the ship for the first time at the Colombo port, the ceremonial exchange of light took place between the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Nimal Siripala de Silva and the Captain of the ship.
A group of officials from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation Services, Port Authority, and Shipping Agent Company participated in this event. The shipping agent company ‘Dave Marine’ said that the tourists who came on this ship will disembark at Colombo port and travel around Colombo, Kurunegala Habarana, Sigiriya and Trincomalee by luxury buses for about two and a half days and board the ship from Trincomalee port on December 21.
