NDB Bank Director and Chief Executive Officer Dimantha Seneviratne accepts Global Finance Best Bank Sri Lanka 2022 award from Global Finance Founder and Editorial Director Joseph Giarraputo
National Development Bank (NDB) Director and CEO Dimantha Seneviratne collected the Global Finance Best Bank Sri Lanka award for 2022, at an awarding ceremony held recently, at the National Press Club in Washington D.C. during the IMF World Bank annual meetings.
NDB was felicitated with this much coveted award in the banking and financial services sector across the globe earlier this year, at Global Finance’s 29th edition of annual best bank awards. Global Finance Founder and Editorial Director Joseph Giarraputo presented the award to Seneviratne, in the presence of a large number of top officials of winning banking and financial institutions from
multiple countries.
Seneviratne also participated in a video interview, hosted by Global Finance Editor Andrea Fiano, which focused on NDB’s excellence attributable to being recognised as the Best Bank and also prospects of the global and Sri Lankan economy in the next 12 months, an opportunity made available for only few
winning banks.
With this award, NDB joins an elite club of banks such as DBS Singapore, ICBC China, ANZ New Zealand, Deutsche Bank Germany and Lloyds Bank UK, as winning banks from respective countries. Global Finance’s annual Best Bank Awards garners the respect as one of the most rigorous and independent awarding mechanisms backed up objective evaluation covering critical areas such as knowledge of local conditions and corporate customer needs, financial strength and safety, market standing, compliance and excellence of customer service—weighted for relative importance.
2022 marks the fourth year in which NDB secured this award, having won same previously in 2015, 2018 and 2021. With the latest win of Best Bank in Sri Lanka 2022 by Euromoney, NDB has secured the rare feat of winning top triple best bank wins from Global Finance USA, Euromoney and The Banker UK (2020) in quick succession.
