Oct. 24 declared as National Supply Chain Day

With the objective of enhancing the awareness about supply chain, the Cabinet green light has been granted to declare October 24 of each year as the National Supply Chain Day.
Plantation Industries and Industries Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana this week sought the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers to declare October 24 of each year as the National Supply Chain Day, based on a proposal by the Institute of Supply and Material Management. 

“The entire process of converting raw materials to end products is called supply chain management and it enables to maximise the customer value as well as to formalise the supply sector activities of an enterprise actively for maximising consumer value and for achieving competitive profits within the market,” the Government Information Department said.
