Orel Corporation with their vision to be the leader in offering the next generation digital infrastructure solutions to the market, recently announced the appointment of Derrick Ferdinandus as the new Head of Digital Infrastructure for the group.
Bringing in a perfect blend of skills and experience to help drive Orel’s vision, Ferdinandus is an industry veteran with over 22 years of experience across the digital infrastructure and marketing space, backed with industry and management experience in multiple leadership roles in MNCs and local corporates.
He also counts extensive expertise in initiating and handling digital transformational projects in both the public and private sector. Ferdinandus holds an MBA from the Cardiff Metropolitan University in the UK. Having held managerial positions at the Lanka Indian Oil Company, 3M Lanka, Avian Technologies, Microsoft Sri Lanka and Omak Technologies, Ferdinandus has successfully taken leadership positions as President of the FITIS Hardware Chapter in 2014 and 2015 and also as Chairman of the Infotel organising committee the same years. He is also the current President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Heritage.
In his new role as Head of Digital Infrastructure, Ferdinandus will provide strategic insights into the organisation’s digital infrastructure policy and advise on opportunities and risks across its portfolio of companies. He will leverage his extensive experience in the industry to advance infrastructure development in underserved areas of the organisation, promoting Orel Corporation’s vision to build a sustainable future by expanding a digitally-driven portfolio of brands that offer end to end infrastructure solutions. These include both locally manufactured infrastructure ICT products as well as those imported for specific projects. He will have direct responsibility for product management and in leading the engineering teams supporting these areas of work.
