It was yet another momentous occasion when Orient Insurance Ltd, one of the fastest-growing general insurance companies in Sri Lanka, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Toyota Lanka.
This unique partnership will offer world-class insurance solutions, international standard repairs and services to their mutually valued customers.

Orient Insurance has deep-rooted expertise in the automotive industry through its parents, Orient Insurance Group and Al-Futtaim Group. Al-Futtaim is an innovative leader in the auto industry in the UAE and is a globally trusted brand, which prides itself on a customer-centric approach while upholding international standards. Moreover, it maintains a value-add business philosophy, enabling it to be the automotive company of choice across all the territories in which it operates. Al-Futtaim Automotive proudly represents some of the world’s most popular and desirable auto brands.

This exclusive partnership will benefit customers of Toyota, who own a brand-new or reconditioned vehicle below five years from the year of manufacture. These customers will not be required to pay the owner’s contribution on new spare parts and regular wear and tear items. Furthermore, Orient Insurance will settle the policyholder’s total claim according to the policy conditions.

Commenting on the occasion, Senior Vice President Strategy and Operations Ameera Hindurangala, who runs a highly efficient motor insurance operation, commented that in addition to the above, Toyota owners can obtain the following benefits:

  • An attractive premium from Orient Insurance
  • Toyota will fit the cars with brand-new spare parts
  • Cashless and prompt settlement of repair bills
  • The owner will receive the vehicles in the pre-accident state, backed by Toyota Guarantee.

Hindurangala further mentioned that with trust comes ease of doing business, where all customer transactions are expeditiously processed and settled. A Toyota vehicle owner can make a phone call/text or email to insure their vehicles or report a claim. Its 24x7 Customer Care Centre will professionally handle all inquiries and provide a speedy solution.

Orient Insurance Managing Director and CEO Tanuj Edward stated, “We are excited to join hands with Toyota Lanka and launch these unique benefits to our mutual customers, which will enhance the ownership experience of those driving Toyota vehicles”.
He further stated, “Our philosophy is simple. It is to uphold the trust and confidence of our valued customers, business partners and the public.”

Toyota Lanka Chairman Sachio Yotsukura added, “We are pleased to join hands with Orient Insurance. According to our global vision, ‘Mobility for all’, Toyota Lanka strongly believes in providing total mobility solutions to the nation by serving our customers with the best insurance solutions under one roof.”
Additionally, Toyota Lanka Managing Director/CEO Manohara Atukorala conveyed, “Toyota Lanka always adopts prudent solutions where we could create lifetime delighted customers and pave the way by harnessing synergies through partnering with trusted
insurance companies.”
