Pan Asia Bank MD Nimal Tillekeratne bestowed with Banking CEO of the Year SL 2022 title

After taking Pan Asia Bank towards the pinnacle of the banking sector as The Truly Sri Lankan Bank, its CEO Nimal Tillekeratne has been awarded the prestigious Banking CEO of the Year Sri Lanka 2022 title by the esteemed Global Banking and Finance magazine. 

Within a short span of five years with Pan Asia Bank as Director/Chief Executive Officer since April 2017 and Managing Director since March 2021, he has taken the bank on an exciting transformational journey on the strength of his 44 valuable years of experience in the banking industry in Sri Lanka and overseas. 
His quiet yet determined leadership has transformed Pan Asia Bank into an institution that has pioneered many firsts while carving a distinct identity as a bank that values and nurtures its Sri Lankan identity. 

Leading the bank through key milestones during his tenure include driving the bank’s digitalisation journey while setting new benchmarks in green financing to promote renewable energy and support the SME sector. His exposure to various disciplines in the banking industry has helped him overhaul all aspects of Pan Asia Bank. 
Tillekeratne has been instrumental in transforming and introducing the bank’s new brand positioning as ‘The Truly Sri Lankan Bank’, achieving Rs.3 billion in profits by growing the banks performs YoY, drive technology adoption to provide better customer service and many more landmarks. 

Tillekeratne is acknowledged as a banking veteran, who is making significant contribution to the banking and financial industry. He is an Associate of Institute of the Bankers, Sri Lanka and a passed finalist of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Statistics from the University of Moratuwa. Under his stewardship, the bank continues to report solid key profitability indicators, which rank among the highest in the industry.
