People’s Bank rewards ‘Vaasi Kotiyai’ remittance bonanza June millionaire in Dubai

People’s Bank’s ‘People’s Remittance Vaasi Kotiyai, Bonanza’ selected its June month’s millionaire winner recently. 
The lucky winner was I.R. Madusanka Jayaweera, who received his Rs.1 million prize from Sri Lanka-Dubai and Northern Emirates Consulate General Nalinda Wijerathna.
People’s Bank launched People’s Remittance Vaasi kotiyayi draw from February 1, 2022, to motivate Sri Lankan migrant workers, who work tirelessly to strengthen the country’s economy. Under this promotion the grand draw winner, who will be selected at the year end, will be presented with a grand prize of Rs.10 million. Additionally, a Rs.1 million monthly winner is selected every month, while 22K gold sovereign weekly winners and Rs.10,000 daily cash prize winners will be selected 48 times and 334 times, respectively until December 31, 2022.
All inward worker remittances sent through People’s Bank to People’s Bank accounts and other bank accounts are eligible for the draw. Further, the remittances collected over the counter at People’s Bank branches, including remittances sent via WU, Ria or similar channels during the period from February 1 to December 31, 2022, are too eligible for the draw. Customers can also increase their chances of winning by remitting more money.
