Premier Electric Company celebrates 65 years

Premier Electric Company commenced business on January 24, 1959, founded by the present Chairman Upali Kapilasena. 
Kapilasena’s origins in the field of electrical contracting dates back to his late father James Appuhamy, who founded ‘Standard Electric Company’ and the experience and guidance he received from him.
Premier Electric Company was originally a sole proprietorship and was converted to a Private Limited Liability Company in 1997. In the year 1989, Premier Electric Company (Pvt.) Ltd shifted its focus from electrical contracting to the import, supply, installation and maintenance of diesel power generators, providing essential standby and backup power solutions to consumers islandwide. 


After many years of successful operations in the field of import, supply and commissioning of a variety of brands of diesel generators from the UK such as Cummins, Perkins, Volvo & Lister, Premier Electric Company was appointed as the sole authorised agent and distributor for the Denyo brand of Japanese manufactured brand-new generators, welding plants and compressors.
The Denyo brand is synonymous with quality, fuel economy and reliability and is used in most industries and residential applications in Sri Lanka.


Premier Electric Company employs a team of highly trained and qualified engineers and technical staff in the field of generator installation and maintenance. This team provides professional after-sales and maintenance support to ensure that the Denyo machinery purchased perform to its full potential during the 25-year lifespan of the product.  
Denyo Co. Ltd of Japan celebrated its 70th anniversary on December 19, 2018 and Premier Electric Company was bestowed with an award for its valuable contribution in marketing Denyo products in Sri Lanka. The official celebration for Premier Electric Company customers and well-wishers took place the year after.
Its principals Denyo United Machinery Pte Ltd, Asia, is pleased to acknowledge its milestone and express its deepest appreciation for the long fruitful business partnership it has shared with it over the years.
