Profood Propack & Agbiz 20th edition announced

The Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA) and Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (Pvt.) Ltd recently announced the highly anticipated 20th edition of the Profood Propack & Agbiz Exhibition, taking place from August 4-6, 2023, at the BMICH Exhibition Centre, Colombo. 
The event is proudly endorsed and supported by the Industries Ministry, National Agribusiness Council and Institute of Food Science and Technology Sri Lanka. 


This landmark event is set to bring together industry leaders, stakeholders and decision makers in the agriculture, food processing and packaging sectors and importantly, the academia that bring in new insights to the food science fraternity. 
As the largest trade fair in Sri Lanka dedicated to agriculture, food, beverage and packaging, the Profood Propack & Agbiz Exhibition has significantly contributed to the macroeconomic growth of the country. The exhibition serves as a catalyst for the overall development of the food processing industry, creating diverse business opportunities and driving investments and exports.


SLFPA President Delano Dias stated, “The Profood Propack & Agbiz Exhibition has played a pivotal role in widening the scope of the food processing industry. With expanding markets and growing demand, it is crucial that we fully tap into the potential of cultivating, producing, processing and packaging food and drinks. This exhibition provides a platform to showcase the industry’s advancements and it continues to be an important driver of growth for Sri Lanka.”


The exhibition offers numerous opportunities for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to display and promote their products. SMEs play a vital role in the industry’s growth and this event enables them to gain exposure, build relationships and explore potential collaborations with key stakeholders.
Profood and Propack 2023 Organising Committee Chairman Vasantha Chandrapala expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Profood Propack & Agbiz 2023 is set to be an astonishing event. Our focus is on agriculture, food processing, packaging and knowledge sharing. We have partnered with nine universities to showcase their innovations and at the end of each day, we will evaluate their presentations. This exhibition is a prime opportunity for participants to network, exchange ideas and stay updated on the latest industry trends.”


The exhibition aims to cover the entire spectrum of the industry under one roof, with a theme centred around ‘Farm to Fork’. It will feature a wide range of products, services and innovations related to agriculture, processed food, beverage and packaging. Concurrent events have been planned to further promote and market the exhibition, making it an unmissable event for all organisations and individuals involved in these sectors.
