SLIC offers Rs.1mn free life cover to parents of infants born on World Children’s Day 2022

In order to commemorate the World Children’s Day on October 1, 2022, Sri Lanka Insurance (SLIC) launched yet another heart-warming corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative by providing a free life cover worth Rs.1 million for the parents of every child born on October 1, 2022 islandwide, ensuring the future of those infants are protected. 


The programme was carried out islandwide, covering all hospitals on October 1, 2022. As the national insurer, the main objective behind this CSR initiative is to fulfil SLIC’s duty towards the nation by safeguarding the nation’s families and communities. 


Commenting on this unique initiative during an event to award this new policy to the parents at Castle hospital, Colombo, SLIC Chief Executive Officer Chandana L. Aluthgama noted, “Providing a secure future to the children of this nation is a priority for SLIC and we will continue to support the parents as well. SLIC is a people-centric insurance provider and it will continue to deliver its promise.”  


Expressing his enthusiasm, SLIC Chairman Ronald C. Perera P.C. added, “Children are the future of our nation and we are pleased to extend the free life cover to the parents of all children in Sri Lanka who are born on the World Children’s Day, on October 1, 2022. We hope this gesture from SLIC gives them and their families the best start in life. SLIC remains committed to nurture and protect the well-being of our nation’s greatest asset – our children.”
