Sri Lanka launches first-ever academy dedicated to AI-powered climate change education

The Climata Academy, founded by Clair Prakash, is the first of its kind that is dedicated to climate change and sustainability education powered by modern technology to equip people with the knowledge, skills and tools to address climate change and sustainability.
The Climata Academy was formed as a joint venture between Climata (Pvt.) Ltd and 
BCAS Campus.


Climate change is real and is moving faster than we think it is. Climate education is the most important, as addressing climate change requires a multi-pronged approach and education is an essential piece of the puzzle.
This ambitious initiative, powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things (IoT) technologies, aims to equip future generations to tackle the pressing environmental challenges of our time with real-life practical-based learning with dedicated subjects such as AI and IoT-powered climate smart agriculture, AI and IoT-powered climate smart aquaculture, sustainable finance, sustainable marketing and 
corporate sustainability.


The board of directors of the Climata Academy consists of a diverse panel such as Climata (Pvt.) Ltd and Climata Academy Founder and CEO Clair Prakash, BCAS Campus CEO Teresh Amaratunga, IAS Holdings Group Managing Director Tania Polonnowita Wettimuny and Engenuity AI Co-Founder/CEO Gihan Mendis.
