Tourist arrivals cross 75,000 mark in Jan.

The island nation welcomed a total of 76, 538 visitors to the country for the first 29 days of the month, out of which, the majority was from the Russian Federation.

During the period, 12,368 tourists arrived from Russia, 11,028 from India, and 7,427 from Ukraine.  A total of 6,929 tourists arrived from the United Kingdom, 4,902 from Germany, and 3,337 from France.

The latest reports from the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) showed that tourists have also arrived from Poland, Australia, the Maldives, and Kazakhstan.

Sri Lanka originally aimed to attract 100, 000 tourists in January.
