Vidullanka partners with SEL Tech International to develop Beliatha solar plant

Vidullanka PLC, a pioneer in the renewable energy space, yesterday announced it has entered into an agreement with a consortium of promoters led by SEL Tech International, to jointly develop the 4.9 MW Beliatha solar power plant in Hambantota. 


The project is expected to incur a total cost of approximately Rs.1 billion, it said in a stock market disclosure. 
Accordingly, Vidullanka PLC will own 50.1 percent of the project company, Beliatha Solar Project 
(Pvt) Ltd. 


Vidullanka PLC recorded a profit after tax of Rs.1.37 billion for the financial year ended March 31, 2023.
Revenue expanded 48 percent to Rs.5.68 billion in FY24, from Rs.3.38 billion recorded end-FY23. 
The interim financial statement filed at the Colombo Stock Exchange showed that the cost of sales expanded by a staggering 148 percent year-on-year to Rs.2.76 billion.
The company paid interim dividends of Rs.0.10 per share on June 16, 2023 and Rs.0.25 per share on December 07, 2023, totalling Rs.339.74 million.
