WindForce signs Power Purchase Agreement for 10MW Kebitigollewa solar project

WindForce PLC has officially begun the work on the 10MW Kebitigollewa solar power project, with the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).  
The signing event was attended by key stakeholders, including CEB Chairman N.S. Ilangakoon, WindForce PLC Managing Director Manjula Perera and CEO Lasith Wimalasena.


WindForce PLC’s acquisition of a 92 percent stake in Kebitigollewa Solar Power (Private) Limited represents a major leap forward in Sri Lanka’s solar energy landscape. 
The total investment for this project is estimated at around Rs.2.7 billion, with a projected equity internal rate of return (EIRR) exceeding 15 percent. Project development is already underway, with completion expected by July 2024.

In addition to generating clean energy, the Kebitigollewa solar power project is expected to create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the Anuradhapura district.
