World’s largest container ship at Colombo port

The world’s largest container ship, Every Ace is currently docked at the Colombo International Container Terminal (CICT) of the Colombo port while returning from her maiden voyage.

The container ship, for which Hemas Maritime is the shipping agent, called to Colombo Port last evening.

The 400m-long (1,300ft) ship has a capacity for 23,992 standard containers and is the first in a planned series of 12 supersized container ships to be built for Evergreen Marine.

Its sister ship, Ever Given, blocked the Suez Canal earlier this year and was stuck in Egypt for over a week which caused significant disruption to global shipping.
