75th birthday of Chief Sangha Nayaka Ven. Banagala Upatissa Thera

The 75th birthday of Chief Sangha nayaka and Chief of Sri Lanka Mahabodhi Society Venerable Banagala Uptissa Thera celebrated his 75th birthday with religious ceremonies at Mahabodhi Vihara yesterday ( January 5 2024). Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Former Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, MPs Ravi Karunanayake and Dilith Jayaweera and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa  were present at the ceremony. The Mahanayaka of Samagiri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha of Kotte Venerable Ittapana Dhammalankara Thera led the religious ceremonies. Pix by Kithsiri de Mel
