Keeping railway stations clean

A shramadana campaign was held to clean the railway stations and the section of Kelani Valley Railway track from Maradana to Padukka with the participation of the Railway Trade Unions over the weekend.

Under the shramadana campaign, about 800 railway employees painted railway stations, repaired sign boards, cleaned roads and railway tracks.

Transport Minister Gamini Lokuge, Secretary to the Transport Ministry N.B.Monty Ranatunga, Additional Secretary L.H. Tilakaratne, General Manager of Railways Dilantha Fernando, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Public Railway Employees Union Nadeera Manoj were also present. (By Rekha Tharangani Fonseka)
