Sri Lanka welcomes one millionth tourist

In a significant milestone for the country's tourism industry, Alex Mazkov, a Russian national, who arrived at the Katunayake Airport today (26) with his family was welcomed as Sri Lanka’s one-millionth tourist.

To celebrate this milestone, the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organized a special ceremony at the airport's arrivals terminal. Mazkov and his family were warmly welcomed by officials and presented with traditional Sri Lankan garlands and souvenirs. Pix by T.K.G. Kapila
