England will continue to monitor the security situation in Sri Lanka amid fears next year's Test tour will have to be cancelled and one of the most popular destinations in world cricket will join Pakistan in international isolation.
Two Tests are due to be played in Colombo, scene of the devastating Easter Sunday terrorist attacks, and Galle next March, with England scheduled to visit Sri Lanka for the second time in 18 months under the new Test World Championships future tours plan.
Already it is looking highly unlikely England will be able to travel, with the Foreign Office last week advising British citizens not to visit Sri Lanka unless absolutely necessary in the wake of the attacks on churches and hotels that cricketers know very well.
The Cinnamon Grand, the traditional base for cricket teams and media worldwide when visiting Colombo, was targeted along with the new Shangri La, where England stayed for the first time during their tour late last year.
