Sri Lanka Emerging XI - Bangladesh Emerging XI 1st unofficial Test

The second day’s play of the 2nd unofficial Test match between Sri Lanka Emerging XI and the visiting Bangladesh Emerging XI played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium saw Akbar Ali and Chamika Gunasekera shine for the respective sides.

Ali who was unbeaten on 62 on day one went on to make a knock of 129 which comprised 14 boundaries and two sixes while right arm pacie Gunasekera who had bagged five scalps on day one added four more scalps to end with a nine wicket haul.

Ali following his sixth wicket stand of 94 runs with Rakibul Hasan on day one shared another valuable 85 runs for the seventh wicket with Hasan Murad who made 27 for Bangladesh Emerging XI resuming from their overnight score of 153 for 6 to make a modest score of 251 runs.

Sri Lanka Emerging XI in their turn ended the day on 81 for 3 having faced 21 overs with Ahan Wickramasinghe unbeaten on 35 when bad light stopped play. The match will be continued today. (M. Shamil Amit)
