Colombo Women clinch NSL T20 crown

Feb. 20 (Daily Mirror) - Colombo clinched the SLC inaugural Women’s T20 Cricket Tournament when they outplayed Dambulla by nine wickets in the final encounter played at the Colts CC Grounds in Colombo.

Dambulla were skittle out for a paltry 82 runs in 18.3 overs after they were put into bat with only Sandali Weerasinghe (25) providing any kind of resistance with the bat.

Vidushika Perera, Sachini Nisansala and Tharushi Thathsarani shared two wickets each while sending down their full quota of four overs.

In reply, Colombo raced to their target in 16.5 overs with Prasadani Weerakkody and Hasini Perera adding the finishing touches after opener Nethmi Poorna was dismissed for 20 in the eighth over.

Dambulla Women: 82 in 18.3 overs (Sandali Weerasinghe 25, Vidushika Perera 2/11, Sachini Nisansala 2/10, Tharushi Thathsarani 2/18)

Colombo Women: 85/1 in 16.5 overs (Nethmi Poorna 20, Prasadani Weerakkody 39 n.o, Hasini Perera 21 n.o).
