Colombo, Mar. 14 (Daily Mirror) - Nalanda College opening batsman Sadew Samarasinghe became the first batsman to reach the 1,000-run milestone in the Under-19 Inter-Schools Cricket Tournament this season when he scored a top knock of 76 against St. Joseph’s College at Darley Road today.
Sadew, in 13 matches and 20 innings has so far made 1,030 runs which includes five half centuries and three centuries with a best of 157 against Mahinda College.
His other two hundreds were against Wesley College (106) and Gurukula MV Kelaniya (155).
His half centuries were against Maliyadeva College (78), St. Servatius’ College, Matara (54), St. Anthony’s College, Katugastota (61) and in the Big Match against Ananda (84).
