Trinity prevail in rain shortened match

Trinity College prevailed with a 19 runs win on the Parabola system over St. Joseph’s College in a rain shortened match of the Under 19 inter-school limited over encounter played at Darley Road. St. Joseph’s taking first lease of the wicket made 186 runs with Hirun Kapurubandara making a top score of 56 and Trinity in their run chase helped by an unbeaten half ton by Viduka Dhammage was on 131 for 1 having faced 20.3 overs when the match was called-off which ensured them victory with the target at stoppage being 112 runs.

Meanwhile an unbeaten 105 in 113 balls inclusive of 14 boundaries and two sixes by Thamindu Pradeeptha and 70 in 77 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes who together shared a 130 runs stand for the second wicket helped Richmond coast to a convincing eight wicket win over Wesley in the match played at Campbell Park.
