Team of volunteers

An enthusiastic team of employees at AIA Sri Lanka volunteered to travel from Colombo to Jaffna and refurbish a junior school in Vaddukkoddai, recently.  Vaddu Karthikeya Vidyalayam is over a hundred years old and is a small, village school with 120 primary school students.

The team briskly got to work, cleaning and whitewashing the historical school buildings. They were eagerly joined in their efforts by employees in the branch offices in Jaffna, Nelliadi, Kodikamam, Kilinochchi and Vavuniya in the North, participating in AIA Sri Lanka’s effort to uplift the education of children in the area.

Director HR Chathuri Munaweera commented, “At AIA, our people sincerely believe in uplifting the life of the community and this effort illustrates the enthusiasm and dedication with which our employees contribute to corporate social responsibility efforts of our company.”
