Allianz Lanka  launched Sisudiriya, a scholarship, designed to provide financial assistance to the children of Allianz Life Insurance policyholders who excel at the Grade 5 scholarship examination. Unlike most scholarships, which award a one –off payment, with Sisudiriya, Allianz Lanka forges a long –term commitment with a payment made monthly to educate the scholarship holder throughout secondary education, from Grade 5 onwards up to completion of the first attempt  at  the G C E Advanced Level examination.

The scholarship programme was launched to commemorate 125 years of service of parent company, Allianz SE, world renowned financial service provider, celebrated in 2015.   Oshanee Hashinika Gayashani from Sri Dhammananda Maha Vidyalaya, who achieved the highest rank in the Kurunegala district and the second highest marks in the island, was awarded the first ever Sisudiriya scholarship from among many applicants across the country.

“Sisudiriya is a relationship beyond Insurance, in which Allianz Lanka commits to supporting and furthering the nation’s talent,” said Allianz Lanka CEO Surekha Alles, “We are pleased to help with educating our bright young people. They are the future of this country.” Allianz Sisudiriya adds to the many innovative CSR programmes introduced by Allianz Lanka over the years. The company follows in the footsteps of its august parent in working to enhance the quality of life of the communities in which it operates.
