Chinese company provides disaster relief

A Chinese company donated 200 thermo flask bottles and Rs.100,000 to Sri Lanka on last Friday in  support of Sri Lanka’s relief and rebuilding efforts on the present disaster of flooding and landslides around 


the island.  Liu Yue, Deputy General Manager of China National Aero-Technology International Engineering Corporation (CATIC-ENG), handed over the relife to Minister of Higher Education and Highways with presence of RDA officials.  The donation was made in response to a request made by Ministry of Higher Education and Highways.   According to the latest report of the Disaster Management Centre, the number of deaths caused by floods and landslides had increased to 71, with more than 400,000 people of some 100,000 families 
badly affected.
