Every child goes to school with the water bottle in hand. Water bottles that are often used throughout the day, may pose a risk of toxicity if they do not comply with the established safety standards.
“The safest way to ensure the water bottle your child carries to school is safe is to provide the child with the Bisphenol A (BPA) and aluminum-free water bottle,” said Atlas Senior Brand Manager Nadeeka Jayasinghe.
As Sri Lanka’s leading stationary and related products manufacturing company, Atlas has nurtured a close relationship with children in Sri Lanka; a concern that now extends to the accessories children carry to school such as water bottles.
“Why we took the decision to market BPA and aluminum-safe water bottles is because we understand the importance of water bottles for school going children and others in the family. It is vital for them to have safe and clean water throughout the day.”
“Children and parents must understand that plastic bottles can become toxic thereby affecting the water inside them,” she added.
“It is important to make sure that the water bottles and other containers used for school are BPA free and meet world safety standards on plastics.”
We use many plastics in our everyday living. BPA may come to be as a by-product when producing polycarbonate that is used to manufacture clear plastic bottles such as water bottles. Research confirms that BPA is associated with various health risks such as cancer.
Atlas water bottles come in 500 ml and 750 ml sizes and are designed to be child friendly. The bottle is available in multiple colours and makes a great choice for a day at school, home or work.
“Sometimes we are careless about the products we use every day such as plastic bottles – but we need to be more conscious of what they are made of and review safety aspects every time when we use such products.”
For over half a century, Atlas has been at the forefront of stationary and related items in Sri Lanka, playing a key role in the lives of children and adults. Today, as the environmental impact of toxins grow, causing health-related issues and affecting daily life, the company believes that as a country, we need to understand the importance of seemingly harmless things in daily living, things that may be toxic– as a society, we need to be more aware of how and why we need to be concerned about the food we eat and the water we drink and the containers we store them in.
