HNB Grameen takes lead in child protection issues

Two inaugural conferences of a series of awareness raising conferences organized by HNB Grameen Finance Ltd under the theme “For a protected generation of children” with a view to enlightening the entire society on child abuses encountered by Sri Lankan children were held on 10th December at the Auditorium of Nikaweratiya Buddhi Samudra Hotel and the Auditorium of the Urban Council, Chilaw.

Awareness raising hand bills on “Prevention of Child Abuses” printed under instructions of Sri Lanka Child Protection Authority were distributed through the network of HNB Grameen branches covering all island as the first phase of this program and this awareness raising conferences are its phase two.
HNB Grameen Co. Ltd. which often shoulders social and economic development process in the country is an institution actively contributing to social care activities with a sound understanding of its social responsibility.  The series of awareness raising programs organized covering the entire island is yet another step of it. The next conference of this series of conferences conducted by Manoj Samarasekera, the veteran lecturer and the Officer-in-Charge of the Public Relations Department of Child and Women’s Bureau of Sri Lanka Police is scheduled to be conducted focusing the towns of Moneragala and Jaffna.
