Laugfs Holdings recently took up two more noble community support projects, organizing a blood donation camp and providing school supplies for children.
The CSR projects were driven by the Group IT team of Laugfs Holdings and was carried out with remarkable support from staff members for both the campaigns.
The blood donation camp, which was conducted under the purview of the National Blood Bank, saw the participation of more than 100 staff from the LAUGFS Head Office at Bambalapitiya. Several of Laugfs subsidiaries such as Jade, Laugfs Beverages, Eco Sri and Laugfs Gas pitched in with necessary resources to make this noble task a success.
“This initiative, which was organised for the second consecutive year, is part of our deep commitment to our community as a truly Sri Lankan business. Once again we saw a large turnout, with many members of our staff volunteering to donate blood. Their unwavering support and enthusiasm has firmly established this charitable event as an annual fixture on Laugfs’ CSR calendar,” said Indika Gunawardena, Chief Information Officer of Laugfs Holdings
Meanwhile, a volunteer team also visited the Sippikalana Primary School in Chilaw, where gift packs were donated to over 100 children in Grades 1 to 5. The kids were presented with a wide variety of books to commence the new school year in January with the aim to foster their love for reading and aid in their education. The gifts of school supplies brought The Laugfs team spent the day with students, teachers and parents, and also enjoyed performances by the children for the gathered audience.
