Premium donates aphaeresis machine to children’s hospital

Premium International, a leading innovative and integrated health care solutions provider donated a Rs. 7 million worth latest and fully automated  “Fresenius brand” multi procedure aphaeresis machine to the only tertiary care children’s hospital in  Sri Lanka , “The Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children” through the “National Blood Transfusion Services of Sri Lanka” (NBTS) on March 18th.  This donation was earmarked based on the high demand of the Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) in the country and  Lady Ridgeway  being the only hospital dedicated for  children The newly introduced cutting-edge German technology will improve the TPE process in Sri Lanka which was  previously conducted manually and took a minimum of at least 24 hours to complete the procedure of a single patient. “Fresenius COM.TEC” is   the only machine compatible for paediatric patients in Sri Lanka ,  and will take only 45 – 90 minutes  of the procedural time. The machine has  a 100% accuracy rate built in and is considered wholly safe for the patient.  Fresenius Kabi is one of the global leaders in health care industry  which specializes in lifesaving medicines and technologies for infusion, transfusion and clinical nutrition for critically and chronically ill patients.  At the ceremonial handing over  and donation of the machine held at Lady Ridgeway Hospital Blood Bank. Prasantha Kularatna- MD/CEO of Premium International addressed the gathering and explained the corporate philosophy  of Premium . Dr. W.K. Wickramasinghe – Director at Lady Ridgeway Hospital and , Dr. Anil Dissanayake – Director, National Blood Transfusion Services  Colombo highlighted the uniqueness of the COM.TEC machine and appreciated this donation.
