Sampath Bank honours highest rankers in Year 5 scholarship exam

Sampath Bank’s Pahe Shishyathwa programme has continued to echo the bank’s undying commitment to build a bright future for the country’s next generation. Taking a step further in this endeavour this year, the bank presented the best performers of the recently concluded Grade Five Scholarship Examination and their respective schools with massive cash prizes.
Consequently, Sampath Bank awarded a cash prize of Rs.150,000 to P.V.L. Melani Wijesinghe of Sri Sumangala Kanishta Vidyalaya, Ussapitiya, a Sampath minor savings account holder who attained highest marks at the scholarship examination. In recognition of the contribution and guidance provided by her school for this achievement, Sampath Bank further awarded Sri Sumangala Kanishta Vidyalaya, Ussapitiya with a cash prize of Rs.25,000.
At the launch of Sampath Bank’s annual ‘Pahe Shishyathwa’ seminar series in May this year, the bank announced that they would be rewarding top performers who are also Sampath Bank Pubudu or Sapiri account holders and their respective schools with cash prizes. In keeping with this promise, the bank is in the process of rewarding the island’s second and third highest achievers, who are also Sampath minor savings account holders, with cash prizes of Rs.100,000 and Rs.75,000, respectively. Accordingly the bank is also rewarding the top five achievers in each district, who are also Sampath minor savings account holders, with cash prizes of Rs.10,000 each. Furthermore, the school of the Sampath Minor account holders who attained first and second positions in each district will be awarded a contribution of Rs.25,000 and Rs.20,000, respectively.
