Drunken motorcyclist on Southern Expressway arrested

A man on a motorcycle was arrested while he was riding on the Southern Expressway after having entered from the Dodangoda interchange.

Police said the motorcyclist, who had come along the Kalutara-Matugama road, had entered the expressway at the Dodangoda interchange and was travelling towards Matara when he was arrested after being chased by a group of police officers.

Investigations revealed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol at the time of arrest.

The arrested man, an electrician and a resident of Matugama was handed over to the Dodangoda Police to be produced before the Matugama Court.
